Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry
June 16 - 19, 1999.
The conference is intended to informing participants of recent progress in Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry and to promote the interaction between these fields and some of its combinatorial aspects. There will be several one-hour invited talks that will provide expositions of recent developments.
Speakers include: Luchezar Avramov (Purdue University), Hyman Bass (Columbia University), Winfried Bruns (University of Osnabrück), Luca Chiantini (University of Siena), Dale Cutkosky (University of Missouri), Joseph Gubeladze (Georgian Academy), Karen Smith (University of Michigan), Giuseppe Valla (University of Genova), Chuck Weibel (Rutgers University).
Moreover there will be sessions of 30/40 minutes talks. Speakers currently include: Annetta Aramova, Aldo Conca, Joan Elias, Giuseppe Gatto, Ernst Kunz, Hidefumi Ohsugi, Giuseppe Pareschi, Alfio Ragusa, Margherita Roggero, Hema Srinivasan, Alessandro Verra, Santiago Zarzuela.
The conference is open to all interested mathematicians. We welcome contributed talks by participants. A poster session for young people is scheduled. Some support will be available to assist graduate students in attending the conference.
