The 9th International Symposium on Hysteresis Modelling and Micromagnetics (HMM 2013) will be held at the Hotel Villa Diodoro in Taormina, Italy, from Monday, May 13 through Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

Abstract submission will open on January 15, 2013 and will close on March 1, 2013.

Proceedings of the Symposium will be published on Physica B: Condensed Matter. Please, consult the HMM website for the details and write an e-mail to hmm2013(at) to ask any kind of information.

Scope of the Symposium

HMM 2013 will be a forum for presentation and discussion of the most recent advancements in the fields of hysteresis modeling, micromagnetics, and in the experimental fields where this kind of modeling is necessary. Scientists with different backgrounds (physicists, mathematicians, material scientists, engineers, etc) are welcome to exchange ideas, methods and results. The Scientific program of this 3-day symposium will consist of invited and contributed talks and posters, organized in different thematic sessions.

Participants will also appreciate the Symposium location, one of the most popular destinations in Sicily. Taormina, in fact, offers beautiful beaches on the warm Ionian sea, a scenic view on the Etna volcano, an ancient Greek theatre, old churches, lively bars, fine restaurants, antique shops.

HMM 2013 will also offer a Social Program that consists of a Social Dinner (included in the registration fee) and two social events the day before and the day after the Symposium (more details here).

HMM topics include:

· Mathematics of Hysteresis · Hysteretic phenomena · Magnetic hysteresis · Micromagnetics · Spintronics · Magnonics · SpinCaloritronics · Magnetization dynamics · Magnetic tunnel junctions · Domain wall dynamics · Magnetization dynamics by Spin Hall effect and Rashba field

A complete list of the topics can be consulted here.

The key-note speakers that have confirmed their presence are: · Andrei Slavin, Oakland University, Rochester, USA · Oliver Gutfleisch, Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany · Teruo Ono, Kyoto University, Japan · Dimian Mihai, "Stefan cel Mare" University, Suceava, Romania.
