Place of birth: Mazzarrà S. Andrea (ME)

Date of birth: July 10, 1959

Degree: Italian Laurea in Chemistry, summa cum laude, University of Messina, 1983

1985-1987: "Fondazione Lauro Chiazzese" fellowship at the Photochemistry laboratory of the Department of Chemistry "G. Ciamician", University of Bologna, supervisor: Prof. Vincenzo Balzani.

1988-1998: Funzionario Tecnico at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Messina.

Since 1998 he is Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Messina.

 

MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS

Supramolecular photochemistry and electrochemistry; Electron and energy transfer processes in multicomponent assemblies; Luminescent and redox-active dendrimers; Artificial antenna systems; Photochemistry and photophysics of coordination compounds; Chemical sensors based on luminescence; Solar energy conversion and light information processing and storage.
